On April 6th, 10th Planet Santa Fe will have the great fortune of hosting a 4 hour seminar with the master of the 10th Planet system himself, Eddie Bravo.
Eddie holds a second degree black belt under Jean-Jacques Machado. He is most famous for his win as a brown belt against Royler Gracie by triangle choke in the 2003 Abu Dhabi Submission Wrestling championships and his particular style of no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, called 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu. The characteristics that distinguish it from traditional grappling are its strong focus on alternative and unconventional techniques, and its foundations without using a gi. The main premise behind 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu is that the art should keep evolving, finding new ways to attack and counter.
The 10th Planet system currently has 43 affiliate schools around the globe, according the official 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu location page, along with countless “Hotboxes”. (Schools that practice and rep 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu without being officially affiliated.) To say that the 10th Planet system is growing larger and larger every day would be an understatement, to say the least.
Eddie also has quite the list of notable students under his tutelage, including Joe Rogan, Chuck Liddell, Rhonda Rousey, Dan Hardy, and our own fearless leader himself, Tait Fletcher, amongst many others.
The seminar willl last from 12-4pm at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu/Undisputed Fitness.
