Combat Classes

All skill levels are welcome in any of the Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, or Kickboxing classes.

Brazilian Jiu-JitsuBrazilianjiujitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Grappling are primarily ground fighting arts that involve taking an opponent to the ground, with a heavy emphasis on positional strategy. Most submissions are either chokes, or arm or leg locks which are designed to trap an opponent, causing that opponent to “tap out” indicating that the person has given up. Although traditional Jiu-Jitsu and Sports Grappling are different arts they share many similarities. Live training against a resisting opponent is a key component of the art and is invaluable in developing the skills considered essential for high level performance in real life situations. Jiu-Jitsu is traditionally practiced wearing a “Gi”, which is a lightweight, two-piece garment, consisting of loose-fitting pants, and a jacket that is closed with a cloth belt, it’s color indicating your skill level.

Beginner Kids Jiu-Jitsu is for ages 5-10 years of age and meets for 45 minutes.

Advanced Kids is for ages 11-14 years of age and meets for one hour.

Children enrolled in the Kids program are allowed to be children and to enjoy their childhoods. The fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu and grappling are emphasized, minus all techniques involving stressing the joints or strangulation. Children love to grapple; it is a natural activity for them and useful for developing greater confidence and assertiveness in a fun way. Since children’s bodies are in the process of formation and maturation, techniques involving joint-locks and chokes are not taught.

The main objectives of the Kids Jiu-Jitsu class are:
1. To help students develop confidence and positive group socialization skills
2. To encourage good health habits and fitness
3. to teach age-appropriate self-defense skills
4. To help students develop better coordination through fun activities

This class focuses on traditional boxing training, as well as MMA applications, including punching drills, footwork, combination punching, bag and mitts work, defensive techniques and movement, and cardio and conditioning drills. 10-16 oz boxing gloves and hand wraps are required for this class. “Loaner” equipment may be provided to beginners in-gym.

Muay ThaiKickBoxing

Muay Thai is a combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. Muay Thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” or the “Science of Eight Limbs” because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of contact”, as opposed to “two points” (fists) in boxing and “four points” (hands and feet) used in other more regulated combat sports, such as kickboxing, boxing, and savate.

MMAMMA

At Undisputed Fitness, the arts are addressed in individual classes: Kickboxing, Boxing, and Jiu-Jitsu. MMA is a high intensity contact sport that involves extreme levels of conditioning and strength requirements. Once students start to become proficient in the individual skills, MMA classes are offered in small groups to acquire the ability to utilize these skills when combined for competition. If you are interested in MMA classes and/or you are pursuing MMA on an amateur or professional level, let your instructor know.

Fitness Classes

CrossFitCrossFit

CrossFit is a result of a systematic fact accumulating, scientifically researched program built upon constantly varied functional movement executed at high intensity for short periods of time. It is measured by increased work capacity. In this class we track improvement. It is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies, tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Combat, survival, sports, and life reward this kind of fitness. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of experience. The needs of pro-athletes and housewives differ by degree, not kind. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.

Cardio Kickboxing cardio kick boxing

This class utilizes the skills of boxing and kickboxing to further one’s fitness levels by practicing the movements of kicking, punching, testing one’s balance, and developing cardiovascular wellness. Cardio Kickboxing is a favorite for self defense, as well as general fitness.
ALL FITNESS CLASSES ARE INCLUDED WITH THE JIU-JITSU/MMA PACKAGE. WE ENCOURAGE ALL PRACTICING JIU-JITSU and/or MMA STUDENTS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR FITNESS CLASSES.
